The Traditional Health Practice Association of South Africa (THPASA NPC) is committed to the professionalisation, development, recognition, and advancement of Traditional Health Practice and Indigenous Knowledge Systems within South Africa and beyond.

As an organisation operating within a developing professional environment, THPASA actively pursues institutional excellence, governance integrity, competency development, and strategic partnerships that support the long-term recognition of Traditional Health Practitioners.

Organisational Status

THPASA NPC operates as a legally constituted Non-Profit Company (NPC) within the Republic of South Africa.

The organisation serves as a non-statutory professional body dedicated to:

Important Notice

THPASA NPC is not currently a SAQA-accredited education and training provider, nor does it issue SAQA-registered qualifications.

Membership, professional designations, competency levels, assessment programmes, certificates, and recognition systems offered by THPASA constitute internal professional recognition mechanisms established by the Association.

Where statutory registration requirements apply under South African law, practitioners remain responsible for complying with all applicable legislative and regulatory requirements.

THPASA remains committed to engaging constructively with relevant authorities and stakeholders in support of the long-term professionalisation and recognition of Traditional Health Practice.
